Our process will begin with a phone consultation and we will discuss basic information - dates and availability, cost of service, general type of ceremony - with time for me to answer any initial questions that you may have. There is absolutely no obligation with this consultation! You and your partner can take some time to decide if you would like to move forward.
The next stage is for the three of us to sit down and have an informal conversation about your partnership. I like to spend a little time (2 hours on average) getting to know more about your relationship. I will ask questions about how you met, your courtship, the proposal, and how each of you feel about the other; this will also be a good time to discuss any expectations you have for your ceremony, what you do or do not want. We can think about themes, songs, or readings that you may like to include and discuss further details about the wedding party, such as who will be participating (family, friends, et cetera). I will be taking furious notes as we chat, which I use to write a unique, personalized ceremony for you and your partner. Finally, we will sign the contract for service to solidify our part of your special day.
The final stage, prior to the wedding day or rehearsal, is an engaging back and forth communication to ensure that your ceremony is everything you want and more. I will present a first draft shortly after our meeting and wait for your feedback; this is usually done via email. I strongly encourage honest feedback! We can tease out what you like or dislike, and I will even start from scratch if need be.
