What's your love story...

Unforgettable, Personalized Wedding Ceremonies

ABOUT

While I am a social worker by profession, officiating weddings is something that I enjoy very much and, as a non-denominational minister, I can perform wedding ceremonies without religious affiliation. Since being ordained in 2010, I have married many beautiful couples, and it is truly a blessing to be a witness to the love and joy that is shared on such a special day.

I am willing to perform a variety of ceremonies, whether secular, faith-based, or

associated with any spiritual belief or practice. I believe that love is inclusive and

unconditional, and so I am particularly sensitive to, and supportive of, all couples and identities, wherever they may fall on the spectrum.

Let me make your wedding day easier and as special as it can be; we can communicate

via telephone or email to see if we are a good fit, with absolutely no obligation. I look

forward to hearing from you!

Our process will begin with a phone consultation and we will discuss basic information - dates and availability, cost of service, general type of ceremony - with time for me to answer any initial questions that you may have. There is absolutely no obligation with this consultation! You and your partner can take some time to decide if you would like to move forward.

The next stage is for the three of us to sit down and have an informal conversation about your partnership. I like to spend a little time (two hours on average) getting to know more about your relationship. I will ask questions about how you met, your courtship, the proposal, and how each of you feel about the other; this will also be a good time to discuss any expectations you have for your ceremony, what you do or do not want. We can think about themes, songs, or readings that you may like to include and discuss further details about the wedding party, such as who will be participating (family, friends, et cetera). I will be taking furious notes as we chat, which I use to write a unique, personalized ceremony for you and your partner. Finally, we will sign the contract for service to solidify our part of your special day.

The final stage, prior to the wedding day or rehearsal, is an engaging back and forth communication to ensure that your ceremony is everything you want and more. I will present a first draft shortly after our meeting and wait for your feedback; this is usually done via email. I strongly encourage honest feedback! We can tease out what you like or dislike, and I will even start from scratch if need be.

"Kristen made my wedding even more unforgettable… Kristen was very responsive to my request for her to officiate our wedding. She started the process by a phone call with us, and it was basically like an interview. She asked about how we met, about our lives together, what we like most about each other, etc. We also met up at a local restaurant for an in person interview and we had a great time talking with her. She hand crafted her speech based on the things we had told her about our lives and what we love most. She also emailed us some readings that are traditional at weddings, should we chose to add those. We chose to write our own vows. I told her I am nervous with public speaking and will probably cry, and she said she would help me along the way. I felt very comfortable with Kristen. Her delivery at the wedding was flawless. She was funny too which I appreciate. She also helped us after the wedding making sure we got the paperwork for our marriage certificate in on time. She really went above and beyond. I highly recommend Kristen for your wedding!"

"Kristen did an amazing job getting to know us as people and our partnership, gathering the highlights of our love story and our personalities, and writing a wedding ceremony script that we will treasure forever. We loved how she spelled out her process from first meeting to the wedding day on her website and were overjoyed that it went exactly the way she described. She helped keep us grounded on each other (the most important part of the wedding day), and calmed our nerves in advance and on the day. She even took a couple bee stings to distract them from us! She captured our love story perfectly and the ceremony was even more special than we could have imagined. We are so appreciative that she filled this special role and our guests kept mentioning how personal and “us” the ceremony was! Highly recommend working with her for your wedding."

"Kristen wrote the most beautiful ceremony for us! It was the perfect length, it was light but not cheesy, and it perfectly reflected our relationship and our style. It was clear that she took time to craft something specifically for us, and she did. We had an almost 2 hour meeting with her a few months ahead of the wedding where she got to know us and our story. It turned out that she had a similar experience to ours so we felt a strong connection with her. Additionally, she swung by our cocktail reception the night before the wedding to get some stories from our friends and family. She weaved all of that into the ceremony so that it felt very personal. She also seemed to have memorized it because when the wind blew the pages over, she didn't skip a beat. We have received so many comments from friends and family that it was one of the best ceremonies they've seen! We agree :)"
